Slow May

Can be good or bad that it has taken me over a month to write another post. I haven't had any notable races in the past month. The TK lawless race was postponed to September. I'm hoping to be the most fit I have ever been for that race. I did the midweek TT the two weeks it was held at TK. The trail was overgrown but the ground was fast. I did a 43:30 which is still 3:30 off my goal. The next week the trails were slick from rain the previous day. KOM holder Jody only mustered a 41 minute on the day. I was riding fast that day. I started my TT  30 seconds ahead of Pat and I made it a goal to not let him get me in the first 6 miles. At 5.5 miles he came up on me and I conceded because I wanted to follow him and not slow him down. The very next corner after he passed me I crashed. It was in a corner that I don't even know how or why it happened, I guess I was too busy sticking on his wheel. I only ended up losing another 30 seconds to Pat and he is in a whole other league of fitness then me. 15 seconds were probably lost from the crash. The clock put me at 44 minutes, although I was only a mere 4-5 seconds slower on the first six then the previous week.

Not too much excitement this past month overall. I've been trying to get 3 HIIT rides in a week. My volume has been a little lower from fatigue, but I'm hoping it pays big dividends in the next month of riding. This weekend is Michigan Mountain Mayhem in Boyne. 100 miler road ride isn't exactly my cup of tea, but it should be good for endurance training.
